Dixon Sales Tax Up for Fourth Quarter 2018

Sales Tax 4Q 2018

Dixon's receipts representing 4th quarter sales 2018 were up 4.8% compared to the same time frame in 2017.  Sales tax represents 43% of General Fund revenues that pays for public safety, recreation and general government services. Overall, the year does show an increase over last year, though there are some one-time revenues reflected in dollars received in the City.

The top 25 producers shown in alphabetical order generate over 89% of the nearly $9 million received in revenue by the City of Dixon.  This quarter's results showed strong business-to-business sales and rising fuel prices and general consumer goods sales increased. As noted in the retail commentary - shifting shopping habits presents challenges but also opportunities.
