Water Quality

Public Notification will be mailed to utility customers regarding our water system recently violated the newly revised limits of levels of Hexavalent Chromium, also referred to as Chromium+6 or Cr+6. This is NOT an emergency and You DO NOT need to use an alternative water supply (e.g. bottled water). Dixon receives its drinking water from five wells, with each well continuously monitored for its water quality compliance with State standard. In 2014, the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) was reduced from 50 parts per billion (ppb) to 10 ppb. This revision brought four wells into non-compliance and the State has issued a Compliance Order to correct. The new regulations require cities, such as Dixon and Vacaville, which also had levels above new standards, to provide public notification For More Information please contact California Water Service at (707) 678-5928 or the City of Dixon City Engineer/Public Works Department at (707) 678-7030. The public notice has been posted to the City’s website.
