The City Council has retained the firm of Raftelis Financial Consultants to conduct a water rate study by adopting Resolution 18-014 on January 23, 2018. A rate consultant independently analyzes the City’s current water rate structure and determines the updated cost of service. The Council has held a series of study sessions regarding the water rate setting process with the final one held on Tuesday October 9 at 6 p.m.
The City Council approved the Water Rate Study prepared by Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc. and directed staff to proceed with the Proposition 218 process at their November 13th meeting. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 7 pm to consider proposed increases in the City’s rates for water service. If the City Council approves, the proposed rates will be effective April 1, 2019.
