On June 28, 2022, Dixon Police were called by Davis Police regarding a waste disposal service, who reported one of their garbage trucks found a dead body when it deposited the contents of the truck at a trash dump in Yolo County. A review of the route the truck made trash pick-ups on indicated the body was most likely from the City of Dixon service area.

Dixon Police detectives responded to the dump with the Yolo County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office. Preliminary investigation indicates the victim climbed into the dumpster about an hour before the trash pickup occurred and was inside when the contents of the dumpster were collected by the truck. Dixon Police are continuing to investigate and believe the death to be accidental. A medical examination will be conducted by Yolo County.
