Dixon Police & Dixon Fire Ask Residents to Observe Fireworks Laws this July 4th

The Dixon Police Department and the Dixon Fire Department request residents observe the laws regarding fireworks use. With an emphasis on safety, the police department reminds residents illegal fireworks, as opposed to the “safe and sane” fireworks, are illegal to possess or detonate at any time. “Safe and Sane” fireworks, which have been approved by the California Fire Marshall, can be purchased at several locations in the City. The use and possession of safe and sane fireworks are only permitted June 28th at 12:00 pm – July 6th 12:00 pm. With all the fires in Northern California, Dixon Police and Fire are committed to ensuring the safety of life and property in our City. As a reminder, illegal fireworks possession can result in a first-time fine of $500, escalating from there to $1000 per occurrence.  Dixon Police encourage all residents to have a happy, fun, and SAFE, 4th of July holiday. To report illegal fireworks, Dixon Police can be reached at 707-678-7080
