Safe Driving During Wet Weather and Holiday Season

Public Service Announcement: Safe Driving During Wet Weather and Holiday Season

As the holiday season approaches, the Dixon Police Department would like to remind all residents and visitors to prioritize safety while driving, especially during wet weather conditions. Here are some important tips to ensure your safety and that of others on the road:

Drive with Caution in Wet Weather: Rainy conditions can make roads slippery and reduce visibility. Please slow down, increase your following distance, and use your headlights to increase your visibility to other drivers.

Avoid Impaired Driving: The holidays are a time for celebration, but please remember that impaired driving is dangerous and illegal. If you plan to drink, designate a sober driver, or use alternative transportation methods.

To further ensure the safety of our community, the Dixon Police Department is deploying dedicated traffic enforcement officers throughout the holiday season. These special patrols, focused on traffic safety, will run through New Year's Day. Our officers will be vigilant in monitoring for impaired or dangerous driving behaviors to safeguard the motoring public.

If you witness dangerous or impaired driving, please do not hesitate to contact the Dixon Police Department. You can reach us at (707) 678-7070. In case of emergencies, always dial 911.

Let's work together to make this holiday season safe and enjoyable for everyone. Drive responsibly and stay safe!
